VOC·BIO Library

A peer-reviewed research platform that connects published aphid GC-MS evidence with biological context, molecular structures, cheminformatics, evidence networks, structural similarity, and exploratory odorant-binding-protein docking.

Published in Insects, 2026, 17(10), 1062. The platform is designed to keep source evidence, computational exploration, and biological interpretation visibly distinct.
At a glance

Published evidence made computationally navigable

VOC·BIO Library was created to bring together fragmented information that is difficult to interpret when chemical annotation, identification confidence, biological context, molecular structure, and computational analyses are stored separately.

The scientific problem

Published aphid volatile records can be difficult to compare because chemical annotations, identification confidence, context, and structures are often distributed across separate tables, papers, or databases.

The platform response

VOC·BIO integrates these layers while preserving provenance and uncertainty, allowing users to move between source evidence, chemical interpretation, context, similarity, networks, and exploratory docking.

Evidence boundary

Evidence-aware by design

VOC·BIO deliberately separates what was reported in source publications from what is inferred through structure-enabled or docking analyses.

Documented occurrenceWhat the curated source evidence reports in a biological or sample context.
Structural similarityA molecular comparison that does not upgrade the original identification confidence.
Exploratory dockingA hypothesis-generating computational layer, not proof of biological activity or efficacy.
